Vocal music will be in the spotlight at Toronto’s inaugural a cappella music festival, SING! The Toronto Vocal Arts Festival, taking place April 13th to 15th at Harbourfront Centre (235 Queen’s Quay West). Tickets for all performances and workshops are available at www.torontovocalartsfestival.com

SING! The Toronto Vocal Arts Festival will feature Canadian and international vocal artists from a wide range of genres, including pop and jazz groups, classical and gospel choirs, and world music ensembles. The festival aims to educate as well as entertain, as industry veterans lead vocal, performance, and music business workshops for singers of all ages and levels of experience. Over 60 performances, master classes, and other events are scheduled to take place over three days; more than half will be free to attend.

Members of the public will have the rare opportunity to take part in a mass sing-along led by acclaimed singer and actor Michael Burgess, taking place Sunday, April 15th. Open to singers of all levels, the 1:00 p.m. sing-along follow a rehearsal at 12:00 noon. Prior to the sing-along, Michael will be presented with the SING! Legacy Award, recognizing his outstanding contributions to Canadian vocal music.

Canada’s Got Talent semifinalist Jack Ettlinger is the latest exciting addition to the performance schedule. This 17-year-old singing sensation will bring the “next generation” to a classic show, appearing as a special guest before iconic Canadian vocalists The Nylons take the stage. The show will take place Saturday, April 14th at 8:30 p.m.; the opening act will be SING! YouTube contest winners Wibi.

SING! The Toronto Vocal Arts Festival will include performances and interactive sessions geared to music fans, amateur singers, and professionals alike.
