The biggest night in music was definitely one of the most memorable ones with a lot of focus and heartfelt words for Whitney Houston.  The night of course included a tribute to the icon by Jennifer Hudson, who in my opinion, had a beautiful performance.  It wasn’t overdone, no theatrics and was very sincere.  I can only imagine how she felt up there paying tribute to one of her idols.

Regretfully, the Grammy people had once again left out some very important icons in their memoriam segment or they didn’t pay enough respects to them. Etta James and Don Cornelius were those people.  They did the same last year by not paying any tribute to Guru.  Though they forgot to pay tribute, the fans certainly didn’t with their tweets, myself included.

There were also a number of performances that kept the night lively including a tribute to the Beach Boys (sans Uncle Jesse) and legendary country singer Glen Campbell and his Lifetime Achievement Award. This also included a robust performance of his classic Rhinestone Cowboy.  This performance kept the entire arena on their feet OR they could’ve also still been standing from one of the most anticipated performances of the night by the biggest winner of the night, Adele, who brought home 6 Grammy’s. With her big win, people were calling it the “Adele Music Awards” – lol!

In case you missed if, we posted up our annual (G)RAMmy Nominations blog post with our personal picks as well as our pick overall as a team.  We did pretty good this year and I wish we put in a friendly bet as I had voted A LOT for Adele.
