There is so much depth to this group that I can’t possibly capture a shadow of the essence in this simple blog, but the minutia of what I can say is they’re awesome, and represent a culmination of hard work, passion, and musicianship that’s often taken for granted in a synthetic digital age.  Coming from a rich musical background the HBE is a Chicago-based brass ensemble consisting of 8 sons of jazz trumpeter Phil Cohran.  That’s right…8 sons and that’s right I said Phil Cohran , it’s true what they say…the family that plays together stay’s together.

The Tune for all my bboys and bgirls  is aptly named “Touch the Sky” off their Bulletproof Brass Album that dropped 2011.  I am excited to announce that the groups Documentary produced by Reuben Atlas and Sam Pollard is Scheduled to release sometime Early 2013, so keep an eye out for it.  Trailer Clip posted below.
