Today marks the 17th anniversary of one of hip hop’s classic albums – Do You Want More?!!!!??! – by The Roots.

This album, which was selected as one of The Source’s 100 Best Rap Albums (1998) was also considered by critics as a classic hip-hop jazz album.

This album was on heavy rotation when I was in high school.  This album IS high school amongst other classic albums such as Souls  of Mischief’s ’93 Til Infinity (even though this dropped a couple of years before DYWM), Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth’s The Main Ingredient and A Tribe Called Quest’s Midnight Marauders (another one that dropped a couple of years before DYWM).. just to name a few.

I haven’t seen The Roots live (yet) but oddly enough, I heard them play just one floor below me at the NBC Studios during our tour back in November while they were doing a Jimmy Fallon taping. I literally felt their music and I promised myself that I will see them very soon.

It's only fair to share 🙂Share on Facebook
